In December 2023 Tim was attending a shoot at Estcot in East Devon and got into a conversation with someone who was about to embark on a mad journey from Plymouth to Banjul in the Gambia in aid of charity and a dose of insanity.
Tim got home and immediately asked the newly retired Richard Palmer if he fancied an adventure - the answer was "Yes!" but they very quickly realised that someone with a mechanical background might be useful so they got Mick Clare (the friendly neighbourhood Mole catcher) drunk in the Rugglestone one night and the next day Mick woke up with a headache and a one way ticket to Africa starting in January 2026 (He ain't getting on no plane!)
With the line-up complete we immediately set about putting our plan into effect to swindle our way to the top of the Rock ’n’ Roll industry. It was a plan that within two years was to bring us close to Banjul

This L200 had grown up on Dartmoor and had one or two dents.

Most of the interior had been carefully given the signature treatment by a dog with an artistic bent

The first job was to change the upholstery and get rid of some of the charm (and fleas)

Tim was transporting some tables for the local cricket fundraiser and managed to put one through the back windscreen which had to be replaced and instantly doubled the value of the vehicle.

The truck looked shot to pieces but the mileage was low and the previous owner was struck by the fundrasing and insanity of the project so sold it to us for 1p (yes that's one of our English pence). With less than 60,000 miles on the clock that was very generous. He even threw in the tick borne diseases for free!

The 3 boys being fans of Rainbow and the comedic genius that is Zippy decided to name their team "Team Carmen".
"We know a video about that don't we Mick?"

We got together one Saturday and customised the vehicle.

The Truck had its big day at Widecombe Fair with a drive around the main ring and an interview about what we were going to be doing.
